Welcome to the wine-growing region of Grčevje, located at an altitude of 500 meters, offering stunning views of the Dolenj Hills and valleys, as well as Trdinov Vrh and Kočevski Rog. In this idyllic and peaceful setting, at Matjaževa domačija, you will find four traditional buildings: a small chapel from 1810, a wine cellar from 1848, and two other wine cellars approximately 150 years old. All have been renovated and offer modern comforts for contemporary tourists, including saunas and hot tubs or massage baths.

The surrounding area offers numerous hiking and biking trails, and nearby you'll find a tennis center and the Otočec golf course. Don’t miss a visit to the restored old town center of Novo mesto – the most beautiful square in the Krain region, and many other attractions, including the Skansen, Pleterje Charterhouse, Zagraški Log, the Dolenjska Museum, Jakčeva Gallery, the Gallery of Naive Art in Trebnje, the Land of Hayracks in Šentrupert, the Colnar Wine Cellar, the Berryshka Chocolate Factory and Distillery, and the Open Wine Cellars on Trška Gora.

During the Tourist Farms Week, we invite you on an unforgettable journey through tradition, history, and wine, where you will experience authentic Dolenjska hospitality.

Welcome at Paha
You will be welcomed in traditional Dolenjska folk costumes and take a tour of a 160-year-old farm that is part of the European network of "Houses with Tradition." Here, we will learn about life in the Dolenjska countryside, both in the past and today.

Wine Stories and Tasting
You will explore an ancient wine cellar and enjoy a glass of cviček in the wine tavern.
A multimedia presentation “The Story of Cviček” – in seven acts, we will discover the history of viticulture, the wine protectors, wine vessels, all three Slovenian wine-growing regions, and the production of cviček from early spring to late autumn.
We will also taste cviček ingredients accompanied by homemade buckwheat bread and cheese:
Dolenjska white, Frankinja, and Žametovka.
As the highlight of the tasting, we will try "The King of Cviček," the best cviček of the season, presented by the Cviček Princess.

Gift for the Tourist Farms Week:
After the program at the farm, we head to the wine region of Grčevje, where we will explore Wine Tourism in the Wine Cellars and sing Slovenian folk and evergreen songs while tasting the tolerant wines.
